lets spend every minute this summer outside in the sun, not inside doing our hair, but still look pretty...

SUMMER IS HERE, party people. I want you to know that it's possible to spend less time on your hair this summer, not sweat over your flat iron, and still look your best. so lets put our skills, hair, and products to the test. if you arent already on the edge of your seat i dont know what would do it for you.

first of all i need to introduce my model! I wanted to use Katie's hair for this tutorial for 2 reasons.  1. because its beautiful and 2. her hair normally air dries/blow dries really straight (3. also, she is an amazing writer.)

ok so here are the steps. its so simple if you are a speed reader you will blink and the whole thing will be over.

start with your hair wet. wash it, use shampoo, baking soda, or a spray bottle. any way you like it, just have your hair wet.

apply a salt spray product or a product with hold.  my all time favorite is bumble and bumbles thickening hairspray. you can find it online or at sephora. everyone wants to skip the product step but it really will be worth it.

grab the section of your hair from behind your ear to your front hairline and twist the section away from your face. then blow dry it.  move the dryer from the scalp to the ends of your section while the hair is twisted

move around your head in sections. the smaller the section the tighter your wave will be. you can do it in two sections or 10 but keep how tight or loose you want your wave in mind. always twist away from your face.

then after each section is dry shake it out, and prepare to look like a model and get stopped on the streets.

ALLELUJAH!

listen here! you can do all the steps minus the blowdryer. wet hair, apply product, take hair sections and twist them away from your face, and instead of blow drying you can SLEEP... YOU HEARD ME, SLEEP. now you know the answer to if anyone asks you if you are stuck on a deserted island and can bring 1 thing... the answer is product. assuming that hands and hair are included.

in the picture below katie did the twists and let it air dry
