It all started a while back during a haircut for my friend julie otten. I was telling her how I love to teach and she was saying how she loves to learn and then we were throwing around all the talented people we know and all that we could learn from then. So I left her bathroom (that is where we did the haircut) and Julie I think stayed in there until last weekend because she curated a workshop that happens once a month at essex studios that enables people to learn a new craft or skill at a great price. I love that it isn't just a hair salon doing hair workshops or a fabric store teaching sewing classes but that you could go to every class and learn something different. That is what sets this concept apart and makes you not want to miss a single one.
Well, if I didn't already think it was an amazing idea, butter my butt and call me a biscuit because I am volunteering to teach the first workshop at the end of this month on BRAIDING. It is going to be a fun time where everyone learns a few styles they can recreate at home that will be their summertime favorite. Sweat on your neck? Who cares. Bugs in your teeth? Fine by me. Sunburns covering you from head to toe? Nothing else matters if you have a great braid.
The class is for baby beginner to super advanced braiders and while medium to long hair is ideal, all hair types are welcome.
Speaking of welcome, you are welcome... to register starting Monday June 16. There are only 20 spots so strike while the iron is hot and the clock is early.
